Server room clean up (MDF)
New Millennium Network Services was called out in middle Tennessee to conduct a routine site survey for a server room (MDF) clean up, when we arrived on site we found roughly 100 Cat5e network cables spaghetti'ed in the ceiling, coming down the wall, coming to rest in knots on the server room floor.
Shortly after our site survey New Millennium Network Services was contracted to clean up the server room (MDF), but this posed a few challenges for the technicians:
1.) This was a live network that controlled production, shipping and receiving of the company's product (downtime would have to be kept to a bare minimum)
2.) None of the network cables were labeled on the server end or at the station end.
New Millennium Network Services was able to clean up and re-terminated all the cables in the server room in approximately 3 1/2 days with an average disconnect time per user at only 5 minutes (the customer was thrilled and very impressed).
By disconnecting only one user at a time, New Millennium Network Services was able to re-terminate their network cable onto the new rack and patch them back in with very little downtime (some users did not lose any productivity do to the disconnect).
New Millennium Network Services as able to help the customer determine what users were connected to what port by using an Advanced IP Scanner to resolve the host name of the users computers and other network devices.
New Voice and Data Network Install (MDF)
New Millennium Network Services installed 41 Data Cables and 42 Voice Cables for this client utilizing all Cat6 Network Cabling; this install took approximately 50 hours to complete from conception to 1 Gbit/s speed certification and labeling (New Millennium Network Services certifies 100% of cables installed vs. 10 to 30% like other companies).
Although testing 100% of the cabling install takes extra time for our technicians to complete, this insures 100% of the network infrastructure that was installed is working as it should with no delays of clients utilizing the new cabling.
New Millennium Network Services takes great pride in the work we do, our technicians are more than just technicians they are artists in their own right. It take many years to master the cabling art, but we have done it and continue to make master pieces like the ones you see here.
